I arrange guided walks in English in and around Kristinehamn, Värmland. As your guide, I am dressed in historic clothes from the 18th and 19th centuries – when Kristinehamn had its great era.
Kristinehamn is one of the iron cities of Sweden and has a long and interesting iron history. There are many interesting remains of this period when Kristinehamn was as important for world economics as Wall Street in New York is today. The first iron mill was established here in 1572 in the city that was then called ”Bro”. The name Kristinehamn comes from Queen Kristina who gave the city its town privileges in 1642. The city is strategically located at the northern point of Lake Vänern, the third largest lake in Europe, and during the 18th and 19th century, we exported iron to countries all over the World. Come and join Mrs. Regina Nordenfeldt for a journey back in time!
